even better than a Pajama Party

There are some moments when being a parent is just FUN! Tonight my kids wanted a pajama party, which I think meant playing with toys in their pajamas. But since I wanted the toys cleaned up, I told them we could have a Pajama Science Class. Doesn't that sound cool!

The three of us ended up putting ice cubes in the microwave, in a pan on the stove, and in a bowl in the oven, and seeing which melted the first. We spent over half an hour watching the ice cubes melt and then become water vapor as it boiled. It was so fun talking about how water changes and why. And... it was a science experiment with no mess to clean up. I love doing science experiments that are easy and have no mess!

Yes, today was a pretty good day. The kind of day when I just love being a stay-at-home mom. We did some cleaning and playing this morning, the kids rode bikes with neighbors this afternoon and then played with neighbors at our house and then theirs until dinner. Dinner, clean-up, and Pajama Science Class. We talked with Grandma on the phone and then read scriptures before bed. Does it get much better? At 3 and almost 5, my kids are just at such great ages! They are getting independent, but still love to cuddle with me. My in-demand-position as mom has not yet been replaced by friends. It's great. I'm just feeling the love tonight.
