Ge Ge Sandwich

What the heck is "Ge Ge Sandwich"??? (pronounced with a hard G and long E, rhyming with Me Me). My kids talk about "gege sandwich" constantly... they sing songs using that as the lyrics, they yell it, they say it over and over to each other and laugh. When I ask what it is, they tell me, "ge ge sandwich is a joke." Whatever that means.

I ask this because Ge Ge Sandwich has been the topic of conversation in my house for not just a week. Not even a month. No, it's been about a year now. A whole year of listening to "Ge Ge Sandwich" over and over every single day. So if anyone, anyone in the world, has any idea what this is and where my kids came up with it, please tell me.

Although, there is the remote possibility that someday one of my kids (or the countless other kids who get to hear this phrase) becomes a famous musician who sets "Ge Ge Sandwich" to music. I can just see me as a hip in-the-know grandma approached by my young grandchild asking, "Grandma, what does Ge Ge Sandwich mean?" I'll know the answer. "My dear, Ge Ge Sandwich is a joke."
